aux box Inc. manufactures and delivers modular dwellings and studios to their clients’ properties. The structure arrives on the property 100% completed.
aux box builds with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). They are the primary construction material for aux box homes. The material consists of EPS foam which is structurally sandwiched between 2 layers of OSB. They have high structural strength, superior energy efficiency and sound dampening characteristics. They are used as floors, walls and roof structures.
Air Tightness – Sealing all of the SIPs joints minimizes air leakage. With every model, aux box has significantly improved the air tightness (Air Changes per Hour). They are currently achieve Step 3 BC Step Code compliance, and anticipate reaching Step 4 on their larger models soon.
We at Capital Home Energy perform the initial blower door tests in the aux box factory in Parksville, BC. Then we perform the final air testing on-site after services are connected.
We also worked our Energy Modeling magic for Step Code compliance. Which has been very challenging for small homes. Thankfully there was a recent update to the Step Code that makes it easier to comply. Click HERE to read more. Contact us to see how we can help you on your next project.
Morgan, aux box co-owner says, “We enjoy working with Richard at Capital Home Energy. He is informative and professional in an area of construction that can sometimes be complicated, overwhelming, and required a ton of learning”.
