Capital Home Energy is proudly participating in the Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Association (GVHBA) annual Coats for Kids campaign to help make a difference in our community.
We are proving a drop off location for new or gently used coats for children of all ages, particularly items for kids ages 12-17, during our office hours of 9am to 5pm.
Donation Tip! Event though some teens fit adult sizing, the coats need to appeal their age group. Hoodies are always a popular choice. Buying new items for donations is also an option, along with donating scarves, hats, gloves and new unwrapped toys.

British Columbia homeowners, new home builders, and other businesses have a new online hub to access information, incentives and support on reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in new and existing homes and buildings.
Efficiency BC is a two-year program, funded by the Province of British Columbia and the Government of Canada under the federal Low Carbon Economy Leadership Fund. It outlines the incentives and rebates available for residential and commercial new construction, as well as an expanded Energy Coach service.
BC Hydro, Fortis BC, and BC Housing also partnered on the project, along with many local governments.

Ductless, mini-split heat pump
Mini-splits are air source heat pump systems that allow you to control the temperatures in individual rooms or spaces. They work as both air conditioner and heater.
Mini-split systems have two main components — an outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air-handling unit(s) (evaporator). They are easy to install usually requiring only a small hole through a wall for the conduit.
Mini-splits can make good retrofit add-ons to houses with “non-ducted” heating systems and can also be a good choice for energy efficient new homes that require only a small heating/cooling load.
