We are providing an update on this development we showcased back in July of 2023. Diamond Head Developments’ Finch Drive Net Zero project aims to create homes that produce as much energy as they consume. Using advanced technologies and sustainable practices, these mix of Net Zero and Net Zero Ready duplexes are designed to minimize their carbon footprint and set a model for future residential developments.
Innovative Design and Construction
The design of these BC Energy Step Code 5 and Net Zero duplexes is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Each unit is thoughtfully planned to maximize natural light and ventilation while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment. The use of sustainable materials, and strong focus on Indoor air quality, ensures a healthy living space, and durable construction.
Community Impact and Environmental Benefits
This CHBA Net Zero project is not just about creating efficient homes; it is about fostering a sustainable community. By reducing energy consumption and relying on renewable energy, the project significantly lowers greenhouse gas emissions by achieving EL 4 of the Zero Carbon Step Code, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment for all Squamish residents.
Inspiring Future Developments
We hope that Net Zero projects like this one will serve as an inspiration for future residential developments in Squamish and beyond. By demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of sustainable living, Diamond Head Developments is an example of how to embrace eco-friendly practices and contribute to the high performance home movement.
