Natural Resources Canada has finally announced an official update with regards to the Greener Homes Grant program;

• The program will be fully subscribed within the next two weeks and they will stop accepting new applications (approximate end date Feb 16, 2024)
• 509,000 + applications received
• $700 M + in grants issued to date
• Average grant of $4,242

If you are still considering doing renovations to your house, and are looking to take advantage of the Greener Homes grant, apply now, before the closure!

The event is open to members and non-members. ‘CACEA voting members (Junior and Full category) who plan on attending must register in advance so that we can monitor our quorum requirements.’

From February 5 to February 23, Technical Safety BC will be hosting a public consultation to gather feedback on the impact of adopting the 2024 Canadian Electrical Code (CE Code) into BC regulation. For more details on the assessment, click here.

2024 Program Updates & Reminders

This year, our annual checklist updates are a result of input received from industry, code changes, new technologies, alongside our Technical Standards Committee and the Board of Directors. Beyond our Renovation Program rehaul, our other program updates are not substantial: some items were updated due to code changes, new technologies, and a desire to help move the industry forward with raising awareness of and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, carbon, and more.
