White Rock waterfront house

|
We would like to share with you this project we are working on with Naikoon Contracting in White Rock, BC.
This waterfront property is being built to the CHBA Net Zero Home standard which means it will produce as much on site energy as it consumes on an annual basis.
This complex and unique design features:
- ICF foundation walls and some above grade walls (Effective R-35 to 40)
- Exterior insulation on above grade walls (Effective R-30 to R-40)
- Geothermal water source heat pump for in-floor radiant heating directly from the Pacific !
- High-performance triple glazed windows
- Zehnder HRV
- A very low airtightness target well underway with 0.76 ACH at mid-construction thanks to the help from Airtight Solutions with their AeroBarrier technology.

|
Built to higher standards than conventional homes, Net Zero houses are designed, modeled and constructed to produce as much renewable energy as they consume annually.
They are up to 80% more energy efficient than conventional New Homes. This not only leads to greater comfort for you and your family but it also means a more durable and sustainable house.
At Capital Home Energy, we have 3 Net Zero trained Energy Advisors ready to help you with your next project !

Thermal Break
A material of low conductivity used in a building assembly to reduce the flow of heat by conduction from one side of the assembly to the other. A good example of a thermal break is adding exterior insulation on wood frame walls.
