World’s tallest Passive House green building approved for Vancouver

|
Vancouver city council has approved ta 586 ft tall, 60 storey, mixed use residential tower in downtown Vancouver’s West End making it the fourth tallest building in the city, and the tallest Passive House green building in the world.
This building proposed by Henson Developments has 485 homes, including 113 social housing units and 49 market rental units within the lower floors, and 323 market condominium units within the upper floors.
The building is designed by UK-based WKK Architects, who is best known for their work on Dubai’s Burj Al Arab. According to the application, the architects were inspired by the shape of the Stanley Park portion of the downtown peninsula, as well as the inlet and forests of this specific landmass.
