After growing up in South Eastern Ontario, I decided to pursue a new adventure and move to the west coast in the summer of 2021. Having previously worked on construction sites from a young age, and recently building houses near Toronto, I found myself intrigued by the science behind home building. After spending a few years at Carleton University studying Neuroscience, I made the decision to pursue my passion for building houses and helping others work towards higher efficiency housing and more sustainable building practices.

In my free time I like to be mostly outdoors hiking, biking, fishing and playing hockey. I also enjoy playing video games and reading during a rainy day.

Mark Mason

Build sustainably or build cost effectively? Why not do both? It is a passion of mine helping each
individual builder or homeowner find ways to make their homes more comfortable and efficient but
with a budget in mind.

Build sustainably or build cost effectively? Why not do both? It is a passion of mine helping each
individual builder or homeowner find ways to make their homes more comfortable and efficient but
with a budget in mind. In our industry, building science is adapting quickly and if you don’t keep up, your
building methods can become obsolete quickly. I believe it is our role as energy advisors to educate and
share the knowledge behind these building practices so that our homes and buildings remain
comfortable and sustainable for years to come.

Mark has a Bachelor of Science Degree and is a licensed Energy Advisor with Natural Resources Canada.
Having made the career switch from Carpentry to Energy Advising, Mark provides a wealth of knowledge
from his previous construction experience having been a part of multiple net zero builds in the Comox
Valley.
When Mark steps away from work you will find him thrashing down the mountain on his bike or fishing
one of his favorite rivers on North Vancouver Island.
